Overview

Installation

To use the Outer Wilds Mod Manager, follow these steps:

1. Download the Outer Wilds Mod Manager installer.
2. Run the downloaded .exe file. Ignore any Chrome or Windows warnings that may appear.
3. The Mod Manager should start automatically. Shortcuts will be added to the desktop and start menu for future use.
4. Install the Outer Wilds Mod Loader through the app.
5. Install any mods you want.
6. Press the “Start Game” button to launch the game with the mods enabled.

If you encounter an “Installation Aborted” error while trying to reinstall the Mod Manager, follow these steps:

1. Open the Start menu and search for “Control Panel”. Open it.
2. Under “Programs”, click “Uninstall a program”.
3. Search for “Outer Wilds Mod Manager” in the list and double click it.
4. Windows will show an error message saying it failed to uninstall. Choose to remove the program from the list.
5. Try installing the Mod Manager again. Note: This process cannot be done via the Windows 10 settings panel; the Control Panel must be used.

To uninstall the Mod Manager, search for “Add or remove programs” in the start menu or control panel. Find “Outer Wilds Mod Manager” in the list and uninstall it. Note that uninstalling the Mod Manager will not uninstall any mods.

To revert the game to its original state, verify the game files integrity through Steam or Epic:

• Steam: Library > Right-click Outer Wilds > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.
• Epic: Library > Click on the three dots under Outer Wilds > Verify.
